History of Ester Wahome and how she came to influence music in Kenya:

Esther grew up in Nveri, spending much of her time singing Gospel music in church. In 1988 Esther was spotted by Sammy Ovando, a KBC producer giving her an opportunity to present in the Sunday Gospel Show, “Sing and Shine”, and offering her the break and confidence necessary for her illustrious musical career.  Esther Wahome was raised in a musical home – her father, William Wahome, played many instruments for pleasure and was her inspiration; it is through him that her love for music grew. While music was at first a pass-time it soon developed in a fully-fledged music career. Esther completed her O levels at the prestigous Pangani Girls High School in Nairobi in 1993; soon thereafter she started her career in music.
